| Wide Bangles With Spinners - Class Description |
| |

Example of the jewelry
that can be made with these skills. |
|
| |
This bangle is so much fun to make. No need to put on multiple bangles when you wear this one. You will learn how to texture the foundation and spinner bangle, how to shape the bangle, and how to cold connect your spinners in this two day class.
Pre-requisite: Basic fabrication and decent soldering skills. |
| |
What to bring to class:
- 1.5” wide sterling silver, copper or brass sheet metal. 1.25” works as well. Form card stock into a bangle to determine the approximate length of the metal needed. Longer is better than shorter – we can then confirm the length in class.
- Because of the cost of sterling silver consider making one in copper and adding silver spinners. It is quite nice.
- Spinners - A good choice for spinners is 100-541 from Rio Grande. Guesstimate how many spinners you want and the approximate lengths. You can also use 12 g wire or heavier. If you want to ball wire for a spinner, I suggest you use 18 g Argentium (available at Rio) or sterling silver wire, or yellow brass (latter available from Metalliferous).
- Mini-bolts will be used to connect sliders. Available for sale in class.
- Hard, medium and easy solder.
- 15-20 feet of 22 g round copper wire.
- Permanent ink pen.
Note:
Please wear closed toed shoes to class and bring a head band if you have long hair or bangs that fall into your face. There is no need to bring tools to class. You will be provided with everything you need. |
