Proper Care of Lortone Tumblers - The following information
is provided by the manufacturer. These directions will come enclosed
with your Lortone Tumbler purchase along with graphics.
Drive bearings
Oil each shaft bearing prior to use and once a month thereafter.
Re-oil more often only if the machine slows down or a screeching
noise is noticed. Also oil knurled nut.
Drive Belt
To insure proper motor life and performance, it is important
that the drive belt be kept as loose as possible without slipping
on pulleys. Improper tension (too tight) can cause motor bearing
failure.
Barrel Assembly
The rubber barrel has positive, mechanically sealing lids that
are easily removed. To open, remove nut and washer, lifting up
on outside of outer lid with fingers. If outer lid is difficult
to remove, insert washer between edge of of pan and barrel, twist
to loosen. After the outer lid has been removed, lift the inner
lid out by center bolt. To close, clean the mating surface of
the barrel and inner lid. Press inner lid into barrel until it
rests on shoulder. Hold outer lid in place while installing washer
and nut. Knurled nut only needs to be snug. The outside of the
barrel must be kept clean by wiping with a soapy cloth. Do not
use Liquid Cleaner. If the outside of the barrel becomes so slick
that it slips on the rollers, roughen slightly with very fine
sandpaper or steel wool.
Important Safety Instructions
The Loretone Tumbler should not be operated in a wet location
or when exposed to the weather. Unplug power cord before removing
motor cover. |
