Arli Wolfson
In March, I had the opportunity of taking Connie's torching
class, and immediately set up a torching area at home. These bracelets are the result of my first day's efforts on
my own. I find torching silver to be an exhilarating adrenalin
rush.
I naturally tend to work symmetrically but fight it all the
time because I love the look of asymmetric. Since the torching
process takes you where it wants to go, it is easier, and very
freeing to design asymmetrically with the torched pieces.
It is an amazing process to saw the silver pieces, torch them,
drill them, apply gold diffusion bonding, antique them, select
accompanying beads, and wire them into wonderful pieces of jewelry.
Connie, I thank you! Email Arli. |

My cuff, with turquoise and swarovski beads was inspired by
the cover on Connie's CD, Design Fundamentals For Wire Jewelry.
I decided to try it out and this was the result. Email

This is a bracelet inspired by one of Connie's cuff-like creations.
I first sawed the pieces of 18 gauge silver, then torched the
heck out of it to bring up the reticulation process and also
smooth the edges. I applied keum-boo which is 24k gold foil,
copper rivets and brass and silver nuts & bolts. For a finish,
a little liver of sulphur and a trip to the tumbler for polishing.
I have taken quite a few of Connie's classes over the past
year and it has opened up a whole new world for me. Thank you
Connie! I can't even remember what I was doing before. Email

I have been fortunate to be able to take several classes with
Connie over the last few years. The Santa Fe Bangle class was
one of the most challenging but fun classes I've taken with her.
The metal is 22g that has been cut, filed, stamped and oxidized.
My fiance, Chad Trent, (who is also a big Connie fan) made the
glass beads for the bracelet. I get a lot of comments on this
bracelet every time I wear it. In fact, I get a lot of comments
on every Connie inspired piece I make! Email
