Bench Pin and Anvil

A bench pin and anvil is a very useful device for filing, sawing, and hammering. I use mine primarily for filing and sawing. The V groove in the bench pin allows you to brace a ring clamp as you file. Note: the bench pin does not come with the V cut out. This is easily accomplished with a small saw. When I saw sheet metal, I place the sheet onto the bench pin and saw in the V cutout. 7.5" long x 3" wide, 4" depth. Clamps on benches or tables up to 2" thick. [TAV-0102].

The bench pin and anvil is one of the tools utilized in the Working With Sheet Metal tutorial.

Your bench pin (the wood platform) will be more serviceable if you saw a “V” in the front section. Here are some instructions on how to do this: Saw a “V” In The Bench Pin.
