Class – Beginning Fabrication And Soldering
Do you want to learn to work with sheet metal, but you are not sure how to start? Are you a little nervous about working with power tools and torches? Would you like to try your hand at working with sheet metal without investing in new tools?
In this class you will learn step by step how to use a jeweler’s saw, files, texturing tools, and a drill press to create jewelry. Safe use of this equipment will be emphasized. You will also be introduced to basic soldering skills. We will make 3 types of solder joints that are the foundation of most jewelry making. You may be able to complete a pair of earrings in class, but, the focus is clearly on learning fabrication skills and basic soldering skills.
